1994 saw the release of the Studio 12SE. The improvements from the previous model included a new cone for the 130mm bass driver. The previous cone was produced by multistage drawing but the new design was ‘spun’, a process which involved forming via cold rolling which also hardens the alloy. The Studio 2SE had limited bass extension but made up for it in the mid and high ranges with no colour and with good definition. The Studio 12 utilised the same drive unit and tweeter as the original Studio 2. It was a tall floorstanding speaker that was praised for it’s bass extension and often compared sonically to the Studio 20.
