The first generation of the exceptional Platinum Series in 2007 offered Monitor Audio the opportunity to introduce a range of new high-performance technologies.

These included the first iteration of Rigid Diaphragm Technology and the use of ribbon transducers capable of reaching ultra-high frequencies. The Platinum Series also saw the introduction of ARC Anti-Resonance Composite material—a thermo-set polymer loaded with minerals to provide very inert, optimally-damped components.

Platinum's innovatively shaped and braced cabinets were finished in a choice of lustrous black piano lacquer, exotic Santos Rosewood, and Ebony natural wood veneers. The front baffles were upholstered in leather and loaded with custom-developed drive units.
