Cat Burns | Since 93

Early Twenties is the debut studio album by British singer-songwriter Cat Burns. With a blend of gospel and R&B influences, Burns cites Donnie McClurkin and Marvin Sapp as influences. When asked about the albums concept, Burns said “the album talks about romantic relationships, both my own and people closest to me, whilst also speaking about self introspection and accepting who you are.” Heart firmly on her sleeve, Burns strives to better herself as she shares very candid, personal lyrics and she sets the bar high for whatever is next for this talented young artist.

Being Poor is Expensive

Bashy | Bish Bash Bosh Music Limited

On his first full-length album in 15 years, British rapper Bashy introduces Being Poor Is Expensive, his second studio album. Bashy pays homage to his upbringing in north-west London, detailing his childhood memories, whilst returning to the grime sound of his early days. Emotionally gripping and deeply personal, Bashy paints a vidid picture of the hurdles he faced. Talking about the soundscape, Bashy said “I had to go so deep into my mind and my feelings and my traumas and my insecurities to make this album”. A solid rap album with a very powerful message hidden within.

Charm

Clairo | Clairo

Charm is the enchanting third studio album by American singer-songwriter Clairo. Clairo produced the album alongside Leon Michels with influences from the likes of Al Green and the Cocteau Twins. Talking about the albums title, Clairo said “I came to the conclusion that, to me, charm is the moment when two people meet, and they have separate life experiences, all their own stories and feelings, and then they tell each other the first layer.” Instrumentally and vocally impressive, Charm is unique and at times psychedelic, with a beautifully gentle tone throughout.

The Great American Bar Scene

Zach Bryan | Warner Records

American singer-songwriter Zach Bryan presents The Great American Bar Scene, his fifth studio album. The feel-good album follows just over 10 months after his self-titled 2023 album, and features guest appearances from Noeline Hofmann, John Moreland, John Mayer, and idol Bruce Springsteen. From a Naval officer, to uploading video recordings of his music to YouTube, Bryan has had a his remarkable journey - now selling out stadium’s on his ‘The Quittin Time Tour’. The Great American Bar Scene is enjoyable, upbeat and is another rock-solid album from the Oklahoman musician.

TRUE MAGIC

salute | Ninja Tune

Vienna by way of Manchester artist, salute, introduce TRUE MAGIC, which features stunning collaboration’s with a whole host of top music artists, such as Disclosure, Rina Sawayama, Empress Of, Karma Kid, Sam Gellaitry, piri, Léa Sen, LEILAH and Nakamura Minami. Highly visual concepts from old Japanese car adverts helped propel the sonics of the album forward and give the album a sense of driving momentum. Blending R&B and hip-hop, salute said “I went in quite blindly just with some loops and ideas but there’s much more of a focus on songwriting and collaboration on this album”.
