This week, Ollie McIntyre, one of our Acoustic Engineers, shares his favourite album of the week - 'The Slow Rush' by Tame Impala.
"What's ended up being one of my most played albums of the last month or so is Tame Impala's Slow Rush. It was the last album I went out to a record store to buy before the lockdown restrictions were introduced, and I've had it on repeat for a large part of it.
The quality of production, arrangement and sound design in Parker's fourth album is excellent, building on that already present in previous 'Currents'. This collection of disco-tinged-psychedelic-rock songs culminates in what is track of the album for me - appropriately titled 'On Track'. A slow, gritty piano breakdown merged with French house organs, it summarises this record's inability to be characterised under one particular genre."
